Visitors attending the Kennecott Visitor Experience help support our community, as proceeds from ticket sales go towards the Kennecott Charitable Foundation. The Kennecott Charitable Foundation (the “Foundation”) is a non-profit corporate foundation that aims to support charities and non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations in the Salt Lake region, including those experiencing financial hardship, people who are unhoused, people with disabilities, children in need, veterans, senior citizens, and individuals affected by illness and disease.
Since its inception in 1992, the Kennecott Charitable Foundation has been dedicated to making a positive impact on Utah residents and the community and has donated over $3.4 million to more than 200 local non-profit organizations that assist vulnerable populations in the Salt Lake region.
The Charitable Foundation provides funding only to registered nonprofit organizations that support underserved populations in Salt Lake County and Tooele County in the below categories, with a focus on communities near Kennecott operations. Athletic and sports teams are not eligible for funding. Requests from outside these counties or outside the listed funding categories are not eligible.
