Naraha is a lithium hydroxide production facility in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

Completed in 2023, the Naraha Lithium Hydroxide Plant is the first of its kind in Japan. Through a joint venture with Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC), we have a 75% economic interest in the facility. Naraha is designed to convert technical-grade lithium carbonate feedstock – supplied by our Olaroz operations – into purified, battery-grade lithium hydroxide. With a nameplate capacity of 10,000 metrics tons per year, the plant supports Japan’s growing demand for high-quality lithium chemicals used in rechargeable batteries and other industrial applications.

This operation is currently under Care and Maintenance.
