Matthew Holcz

Matthew was appointed Chief Executive, Iron Ore in August 2025. 
 
He joined Rio Tinto in 2007 and has over twenty years experience in the mining industry working in operational, major projects, business development and commercial roles, across a range of commodities including iron ore, copper and nickel, in geographies including Australia, South America and the United Kingdom. He was most recently Managing Director, Pilbara Mines, leading Rio Tinto’s 18 iron ore mines in the region.
