Bringing to market materials critical to urbanisation and the transition to a low-carbon economy

We work across 6 continents in 35 countries. Most of our assets are in Australia and North America, with operations also in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.

We have been at the forefront of automation and remote operations in our industry. Through research, development and technologies such as data science and artificial intelligence, we continually improve the productivity and efficiency of our operations while also reducing our footprint.

Many of our operations are on or near land that is significant to Indigenous communities. We are determined to strengthen the way we engage with Indigenous peoples in every country where we work. We are moving to a model of co-management of land and waters, and we are updating our agreements to deliver more enduring socioeconomic, heritage and environmental outcomes. This, in turn, delivers greater certainty for mine development.

Working smarter

Through our Safe Production System (SPS), we’re empowering our people to find better ways of working. Launched in 2021, the SPS is designed to improve how we operate our assets, manage performance and help our people innovate. We are drawing on data more efficiently to understand asset health, maintenance scheduling and bottleneck solutions. We have started to see improved production efficiency, safety and engagement at the sites where we have deployed SPS.

Decarbonising our operations

Providing the materials the world needs means we have an impact on the environment. We recognise the responsibility we are entrusted with, and see ourselves as long-term stewards of natural resources and the ecosystems they support.

Our goal is to reduce the emissions from our operations by 50% by 2030.

More about operations

We are progressing important growth opportunities and projects, to bring to market materials critical to urbanisation and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
