Rio Tinto Aluminium annonce un don de un million de dollars à la campagne de la Fondation de ma vie : VIVRE + qui vise à permettre aux résidents du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean et de la Côte-Nord d’avoir accès à de meilleurs soins de santé près de leur résidence.
«Rio Tinto croit à l’importance du soutien aux institutions et aux organisations des communautés où il est établi, a déclaré Étienne Jacques, vice-président, Santé, sécurité et environnement chez Rio Tinto Aluminium. Cette grande campagne permettra à la population de toute la région d’obtenir des soins médicaux à la fine pointe à proximité, d’avoir accès à plus d’options pour rester en santé et ainsi de bénéficier d’une qualité de vie supérieure. »
Au Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, le groupe Aluminium de Rio Tinto contribue de façon significative à la communauté, et ce depuis plus de 90 ans. Le groupe appuie une centaine d’organismes régionaux, notamment la Traversée internationale du Lac-Saint-Jean, l’orchestre symphonique du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Centraide et le Festival International des Rythmes du Monde. Nous avons également offert notre soutien à de nombreuses initiatives de recherche menées à l’UQAC et contribué à la création d’un pavillon de la culture autochtone.
