We have disclosed detailed information for the tailings facilities that we operate that are rated ‘Very High’ or ‘Extreme’ under the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) consequence classification scheme. We have made considerable progress since August 2020 towards conformance with the GISTM for these tailings facilities; the work is mostly complete, and detailed plans are in place for the outstanding items.
We have also disclosed information on the other tailings facilities that we operate that have lower GISTM consequence classifications, based on the Investor Mining and Tailings Safety Initiative (IMTSI) request for public disclosures on tailings.
