Ports

We operate four shipping terminals at two locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, product stockpiling and blending and ship loading. Access the 2016 Ports handbook here.

Dampier: 

Parker Point 

Inloading assets: Two car dumpers and four stackers. 

Outloading assets: Three reclaimers and a four-berth wharf (1.1km long) with two ship loaders

Ownership:  100 per cent Rio Tinto owned  

East Intercourse Island

Inloading assets: One car dumper and three stackers.

Outloading assets: Three reclaimers and a single-berth wharf with one ship loader, and one layby berth.

Ownership:  100 per cent Rio Tinto owned  

Cape Lambert: 

Ownership:   Joint venture between Rio Tinto (53 per cent), Mitsui (33 per cent) and  Nippon Steel Sumitomo Metals Corporation (14 per cent)

Port A

Inloading assets: Two car dumpers and five stackers.

Outloading assets: Three reclaimers and a four-berth wharf (3.1km long) with two ship loaders. 

Port B

Inloading assets: Three car dumpers and four stackers.

Outloading assets: Three reclaimers and a four-berth loading wharf (1.8km long) with two ship loaders.
