Rio Tinto Alcan

Rio Tinto Alcan is a global supplier of bauxite, alumina and primary aluminium, with an annual production of 30 million tonnes of bauxite, 8.7 million tonnes of alumina and 4.3 million tonnes of aluminium. It also produces specialty aluminas for advanced ceramics and fire retardants, anodes and technology solutions for aluminium smelting and a range of engineered aluminium products for the aerospace, mass transportation, automotive, marine, building construction and display, electricity transmission, wind-power generation, recreation and leisure industries.

The business is a product group of Rio Tinto and maintains large, long life, cost effective operations that deliver high quality products. The strategy is to maximise shareholder return by committing to excellence in health, safety and environmental performance; working with communities to help contribute positively to their health and sustainability; maximising value generated from existing assets; and opportunistically growing the bauxite, alumina and aluminium portfolio.
