Just as our operations contribute to the quality of life in its host communities, our long term success depends on community support for its operations, products and services.

As a founding member of Imagine, Alcan is known for its generosity and for supporting its employees in their communities.  Rio Tinto has committed to creating the Rio Tinto Alcan Foundation in Canada, with an endowment of C$200 million built up over a five year period. Through the Foundation, whose mission will be to administer the Community Investment Programme, Rio Tinto Alcan will uphold all current Alcan commitments.
