Our aim is to represent Rio Tinto's views to government and others on public policy, legislation and relevant issues. We undertake this work professionally and with integrity.

Rio Tinto is a signatory to a host of international commitments and standards, including the United Nations Global Compact, and we are dedicated to ensuring we meet them.  

Mining is a heavily regulated industry and we maintain a continuous dialogue with many governments and public authorities at national, provincial and municipal levels. We regularly speak out on matters that affect our business interests, as well as those of our shareholders, employees and others involved in our activities.
