Political involvement

We do not participate in party politics, directly or indirectly, nor do we make payments to political parties or individual politicians.

We represent our views to government, and others, on matters affecting our business interests, and those of our shareholders, employees, and others involved in our activities. By fostering such public dialogue, we contribute to the development of sound legislation and regulation that is relevant and appropriate to our business interests.

Where so required, under local regulations, any agency engaged in government relations activities on our behalf will register us as a named client for their services.

Nothing in our policy seeks to restrict individuals acting in their personal capacity as citizens from participating in the political process.

There were no reported breaches of our political involvement policy in 2008.
