Human rights
We support and respect human rights consistent with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and actively seek to ensure we are not complicit in human rights abuses committed by others. We also support a number of international commitments and are dedicated to complying with these.
The way we work, our global code of business conduct, supported by our Human rights policy and guidance note provides the framework for our approach in this area.
We train our employees and contract security personnel to be aware of what the company expects of them regarding the rights of our people and the communities in and around our operations.

Training on human rights is provided for employees at the general manager level or above as well as our contract security personnel. This training was completed by 4,114 employees during 2009 and 2010.
