Our goal is zero injuries in the workplace. There is still some way to go in achieving our goal and increased focus is being placed on effective visible leadership and more rigorous compliance with the safety standards. Our reporting focuses on three main areas:

• fatalities and lost time injuries. We regret to report that six people died at operations we manage in 2003. There were 468 lost time injuries, resulting in a frequency rate of 0.81 injuries per 200,000 hours worked; and
• management systems for safety.

In addition, we also report fines for infringement of safety regulations.
