Rio Tinto Human rights guidance Employees
Rio Tinto operations have codes of conduct for their employees, setting clear rules on a number of issues, including discrimination and sexual harassment. These codes are communicated to all staff, and backed by a complaints procedure. Management has a duty to employees to make them aware of the Speak-OUT programme which enables them to report matters of concern in a confidential process. Complaints are dealt with fairly and impartially. We endeavour to ensure that our suppliers, contractors and other business partners are aware of our employment standards, including our prohibition on child labour, and in cases of doubt we monitor their practices.
