Rio Tinto has recommitted to the revised Australian Minerals Industry Code for Environmental Management for all of our businesses. This is widely regarded as the most comprehensive mining industry code of environmental practice to date and Rio Tinto is a founding signatory.

Signatories make commitments to values such as the integration of environmental, social and economic considerations into decision making and management consistent with the goals of sustainable development. Signatories also commit to publishing a report and undertaking a review of their progress against the Code principles.
