Biodiversity strategy

Rio Tinto committed itself in 2000 to the development of a biodiversity strategy by following four steps:

The strategy was outlined in 2001 and the four steps completed. In 2002, the elements of the strategy will be developed further and implementation will begin. The ultimate goal is to achieve operating performance improvements that are recognised and lead to reputational gains.
