Rio Tinto is headquartered in London and has executive offices in Melbourne.
Rio Tinto plc adopted new Articles of Association by special resolution passed on 20 April 2009 which were amended further by special resolution on 20 April 2009 effective 1 October 2009. Rio Tinto Limited adopted a new Constitution by special resolution passed on 24 May 2000 and amended by special resolution on 18 April 2002, 29 April 2005, 27 April 2007, 24 April 2008 and 20 April 2009 (effective 20 April 2009 and 1 October 2009).
