Data reliability
Results are a combination of measured, estimated and calculated data. Land area disturbed and rehabilitated is typically measured on an annual basis, often to fulfil government requirements for mining leases. This will not always be done by the end of the calendar year and, therefore, some estimation is required.
Initiatives, such as development of a data quality standard, data quality reviews and external verification, are increasing the focus on data quality across the Group.
