Fluoride emissions
In 2005, fluoride emissions were 1,128 tonnes. Four aluminium smelters (Boyne Smelters, New Zealand Aluminium Smelters (NZAS), Anglesey and Bell Bay) contributed 97 per cent of the Group's fluoride emissions in 2005. Fluoride emitted from coal combustion in other activities accounted for the remaining three per cent.
Fluoride emissions have increased by less than one per cent since 2004.
